Location: Stennis Space Center, MS

DESCRIPTION

Reports to the PSCI Lead. The mission is to support the operations and maintenance of gliders and profiling floats at the Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, MS.
 
Provide warehousing and logistics support to unmanned glider variants. Maintain GFE inventory of stocked glider parts and batteries. Provide inventory reports with information needed to replenishing inventory. Provide Logistics Support Services in the form of shipping and storage operations. Receiving, storing and moving of remote sensing systems such as profiling floats with alkaline and lithium battery packs.  Label/Re-label and attach shock monitors to individual float shipping containers and deployment containers.  Provide parachute-rigging services (attachment and detachment) on the profiling floats as necessary. Submit a detailed written summary of tasks and any issues or challenges encountered.

Provide services for the storage of lithium-powered instrumentation. Be knowledgeable and capable of providing services for the shipment of sensitive systems to CONUS and OCONUS locations. Provide services for the moving of equipment and electronics to aircraft and ships. Must have industry standard forklift certification and other certifications required to move/transport heavy equipment/instruments. Must have a Mississippi Class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement. Must have appropriate experience and training in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use.

SKILL/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

MANDATORY

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • 5 years’ experience with warehouse and logistics activities for military or aerospace activities
  • 5 years’ experience providing services for the shipment of sensitive systems, including equipment and electronics, to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Must have industry standard forklift certification
  • Must have, at minimum, Mississippi Class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement.
  • Must have appropriate experience and training in PPE use.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience writing reports
