 DESCRIPTION

Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.

SKILL/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

MANDATORY

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD secret clearance
  • US Citizen
  • Experience with rigging, hoisting, positioning of heavy equipment.
  • Extensive experience with assembly of engineering prototype hardware and operation of basic machine shop equipment (saws, sanders, mills, lathes, drill presses, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of drilling and tapping various types of steels and aluminum alloys.
  • Experience with pneumatic impact wrenches, torque wrenches and general knowledge in basic fastener types, strengths and threads.
  • Demonstrated sound writing and verbal communication skills in a teaming environment.
  • Capable of obtaining certifications to operate a pallet stacker and overhead hoist/cranes.
  • Capable of obtaining an ATF Explosives Possessors License.
  • Education requires a high school diploma and a minimum of five years exp.


 

DESIRED

  • 11 years Mechanical Hardware Assembler.
  • Knowledge in disassembly/assembly of hardware.
  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic Experience
  • Heavy Equipment Troubleshooting Experience
  • HPUs, and servos experience
  • Vocational education in machine shop practices.
